How Much Can Music Producers Earn?

beats by dr dre solo cheap, That doesn\'t end at the advance fee; they will then pile up huge royalty percentages. It is rumoured that Dr Dre charges $500k per production but recouping at this level means sales in excess of 2 million albums! For new producers the figures are much smaller. It is not uncommon for new producers to charge between £200 - £1000 per production.

Someone like Quincy Jones can command millions to record an album because of his track record. Thriller, the album which I believe brought him to prominence sold in excess of 70 million copies from an approximate $1million budget. So one can safely say that the more records you sell the higher beats by dr dre solo cheap the fees you can charge. Steve Mac the British producer responsible from producing Susan Boyle\'s album which sold millions of copies (410 in the 1st week of release) will have increased his earning potential after the sale audit!

So how does the big income stack up?

The Advance - The money you receive to cover studio costs and for spending your time making the record. This amount depends on what you can command in the market and has a huge bearing on the sales potential of the producer\'s history.

The Royalties - This ranges between 2-9% depending on who you are. A well-known producer like Dr Dre can command 6% while an unknown producer can be given nothing in the way of royalties. The royalties can come after the re-coupment of the total recording cost or after the advance paid for the production.

Other Interests - Someone like Quincy Jones is not only involved in making recorded music. He has also been involved in making, music for film, TV and even having his own TV show. The reason I mention this is that other activities feed back into music production and increases the producers\' profile.

Releasing Other Artists - Dr Dre goes even beyond this because he has his own label, Aftermath Entertainment that continues to release music. This is a great way of maintaining continuity and prominence in the industry.

From the above what hope does anyone have to make this kind of income? This kind of money beats by dr dre solo cheap only comes to those who genuinely have talent and have demonstrated this by continuous credible releases. It is not for those who haven\'t learnt their craft and desire such levels of income.

The final concern could be how labels can afford such figures even today. My opinion would be their belief that the track would recoup. Unless this is the case paying in excess of 50k for one single track would amount to throwing money into the sea. For the Thriller album that cost $1 million beats by dr dre solo cheap and has generated over 70 million sales I would say it was the best $1 million ever spent!
